Feuring has realised a new InterCityHotel in the science city of Darmstadt in Hessen. Directly adjacent to the central railway station, Feuring has developed the new mid-scale hotel with a total of 140 rooms, four modern and flexible conference rooms, a breakfast restaurant as well as a new FoodLounge concept. The new hotel can finally satisfy the many years of unfulfilled demand for a hotel near the main railway station in Darmstadt. The mid-scale hotel opened its doors on September 1st 2012, just in time for the 100th anniversary of the station.
The good positioning of the science city of Darmstadt played a major role in the decision for this project: “a modern congress centre as well as important international companies in the immediate neighbourhood on the one hand, and the close proximity to the international airport in Frankfurt and the city’s central position within the Rhine-Main area on the other hand greatly influenced the choice of the location for the development of a modern business hotel”, says Matthias Lowin, Managing Director at Feuring.
The concept of the operator, InterCityHotel, made use of these advantages. The hotel focuses on guests travelling to Darmstadt for a brief visit, mostly for business reasons. Besides spacious and modern accommodation, InterCityHotel offers its guests a cost-free ticket for the local public transport system ÖPNV, so that they can easily and comfortably reach any destination within the region.
