InterCityHotel at Berlin Central Station

Directly located at the central station in Berlin, InterCityHotel GmbH gets a new prime location right in the centre of the German capital The new hotel will not only be the biggest InterCityHotel, but also the brand’s new flagship featuring 412 rooms and an extensive conference area.

“After a long planning period, we have now reached the exciting visible phase of the project realization”, says Matthias Lowin, managing director at Feuring. The construction of the hotel, which is to stand 30 m high, will start in the third quarter of 2011.

The high demands on the architectural quality at this highly visible location in close proximity to the capital’s central station are more than justified. Based on the results of the architectural competition back in 2006, the architects from Reichel + Stauth set new standards by giving the building a sophisticated structure and employing high-end material for the façade. The recesses of the individual floors give an individual character to the building and integrate the hotel perfectly into the urban development at the “Lehrter Stadtquartier”.
