New Lighthouse on the Rhine
The observer will be able to spot the spectacular glass tower of the new Hyatt Regency hotel on the “Hafenspitze” or the “tip of the harbour” from far away – the opening of which will take place in 2010. Feuring is responsible for the concept of the ultra-modern and design-orientated 5-star hotel and was also assigned by the project company Hafenspitze GmbH & Co. KG, represented by the managing partner Peter Schunk, to procure the operating agreement with Global Hyatt.
Feuring is acting as advisor for the hotel development until opening.
The 17-storey hotel tower is being built on a sought-after plot at the end of a tongue of land at the harbour and will rapidly establish itself as the leading business hotel in the provincial capital of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The total investment of the new Hyatt Regency Hotel, which will comprise one of the two lighthouse-like twin towers, also includes an office tower and an additional office building. The hotel’s 303 rooms and suites will be complemented with a restaurant and a number of bars as well as a health club, a spa and an extensive meeting and conference area. A 150 metre long pedestrian bridge across the harbour basin was already completed last year by the City of Dusseldorf. This connects the location to the centre of town even better than before and makes it easier to reach available means of public transport.
