In the beginning there was a hotel.

Before Berno-H. Feuring started developing hotels, he was running a hotel himself.

In 1959, at the age of only 22, he opened the Europahotel in Mainz.  This hotel was to be a prototype combining modern comfort with innovative service concepts like a beverage lift, a telephone in each room or prices that included breakfast.  Another attraction was the number of staff required.  Through clever rationalisation the Europahotel could be operated with only a third of the formerly required number of employees.

This successful example in Mainz was soon followed by openings in Ludwigshafen, Recklinghausen, Bad Pyrmont, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Tenerife as well as in numerous other locations.
